It is a checkers game played in Turkey, generally known as Turkish Checkers. For now, playing against each other on the same phone has been completed. Studies are continuing for mutual play via Bluetooth.

Gameplay

-------------------------------------------------

It is played with 32 tiles, 16 black and 16 white, on an 8x8 board consisting of 64 squares. White stones are placed in the second and third rows, black stones are placed in the sixth and seventh rows, and the white side starts the game. Unlike classic checkers, the pieces do not move diagonally; if the neighboring squares are empty, they can move right, left and forward, but cannot go back. The aim of all pieces is to reach the square in the next row and become "checkers". The piece that becomes stronger as a checker gains the ability to move back, and can also move in an L-shape in more than one square, provided that it captures one or more pieces of the opposing side. The most valuable stone among stones is this stone called checkers. Stones that have not reached the palate are called "degenerate". Since the checker stone has a high mobility (depending on the player's mastery level), the checker is considered worth 5 corrupt pieces, that is, 5 corrupt pieces can be sacrificed to obtain a checker piece.

The aim of Turkish checkers is to consume the other side's pieces and win the game. Both players have one move. After one side makes its move, it is the other side's turn. If both sides have one piece left at the end of the game (even if one of the pieces is a checker), the game ends in a draw and this situation is called "gayyim".

Rules

-------------------------------------------------- ------

The player must play the piece he removed from its place, he can never give up his move.

Both sides; If he has the opportunity to capture the opponent's piece, he must do so with his first move.

In case of taking stones in several directions, it is mandatory to take the many stones.

History

-------------------------------------------------- ------

In 1889, Kitapçı Harekil Efendi published two checkers treatises. This work, located in the Beyazıt State Library, includes the games of the famous checkers of the period. In the work; Famous plays of Ethem Bey, Derviş Hampar, Nadir Molla, Halil Pasha, Şakir Baba and İbrahim Bey are described. Since Sultan Abdülaziz was a checkers enthusiast, that period is remembered as a glorious period for Turkish checkers.
